Idaho wolf controversy

Wolves have killed at least a dozen head of sheep on an Idaho ranch in recent days. The ranch is the Flat Top Ranch, which also has a 1,100-acre conservation easement held by The Nature Conservancy, including the restriction on lethal predator control within the easement's borders.
Federal wildlife officials killed a wolf on the ranch last week, although not within the boundary of the conservation easement. But that didn't matter to wolf advocates, including some who are very vocal and critical of the ranch that has experienced the depredations.
