The Pinedale Fine Arts Council presented its annual PFAC Millennium Arts Award to Pinedale High School senior-to-be Bekah Knapp. As part of the millennium arts criteria, Bekah created a sculpture design as well as a short essay about the design and a brief artist’s statement. Bekah’s’s winning design, which involves an empty locker, represents the many memories associated with high school life. Bekah’s design, which she carved out of blue foam-core, will be cast this summer and added to the PHS Millennium Arts sculpture in front of the Pinedale high school. In addition to the award, Bekah received a $300 gift card for art supplies from Dick Blick art supply company.
"PFAC is very pleased to award our 2012 Millennium Arts Award to Bekah," PFAC Outreach Coordinator, Tim Ruland said. "Bekah has been a participant in a number of PFAC school residencies for many years, including starring in this past year’s Missoula Children’s Theatre production. We’re excited and happy to present the award to a student so versed in art and performance."
