Following up on the flurry of stories appearing on Facebook over the last few days, the Billings Gazette reports that National Park Service officials have confirmed they are investigating a recent encounter between a denning female wolf and a park visitor. The man sprayed the wolf with pepper spray and eventually jumped into the Yellowstone River during the encounter, but officials emphasized that this was not an attack.
