4-H Car Wash a success in Bondurant
North Star Feeders 4-H Club

July 2, 2012
North Star Feeders 4-H Club hosted a car wash Saturday, June 30th in Bondurant at the Branding Iron Restaurant. The day was beautiful for residents and passer-bys who enjoyed getting their cars scrubbed.
The fundraiser helped the club earn money for supplies for the 4-H Club. The fundraiser was a great success and a lot of fun! The club decided instead of hounding businesses for donations, a good hard day’s work with elbow grease and sunscreen would be much more satisfying, and it was!
Members brought cookies to share with car wash attendees, as well as lemonade. The club also wants to wish safe healing to leader Lennie Campbell, and we will be making sure he takes it easy at fair so he heals up fast! Get well, Lennie, we are thinking and praying for you!
Members who attended were Walden and Anna Campbell, Grace and Banks Walker, Annie and Josh Grant and Gus Lozier. Many additional cousins, friends, parents and aunts showed up to help wash well over 30 cars! A $5.00 a car fee was charged, and along with cars, truck and even a 4-Wheeler, members scrubbed travel through camper trailers!
The kids had a good opportunity learning to collect money and explain to customers the reason for the fundraiser and what the money would go to. It was a great learning experience, and the club is already thinking about how to be even more efficient for next year’s car wash!
Thank you to all who supported the hard efforts of some eager and extra excited youth!
