Fire near Hoback Ranches quickly doused
July 27, 2012
A small fire occurred near Hoback Ranches early on Friday, July 27th. The Sled Fire was located about 1-1/2 miles north of Hoback Ranches. Bridger-Teton National Forest fire crews were able to get control of it and keep it from growing more than about an acre in size.
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office sent out an alert using the Everbridge Emergency Notification System to residents about the fire. Hoback Ranches/Bondurant area residents, did you get notified? The alert message could have come in on your cell phone, land line, email, text message and any other media you designated, if you have signed up for the SCSO’s Everbridge Emergency Notification System. That alert keeps cycling through the contact numbers you have provided until you finally respond to one saying you got the message.
Only about 50 people in the Bondurant area have signed up for this notification. The SCSO would like more of people to sign up - it’s the best way the Sheriff’s Office has to reach you and warn you in the event of an emergency. Click on this link to get to the Sublette County Citizen Alert Notification Sign Up to put your contact numbers into their system (it’s all voluntary).
