The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rock Springs Field Office (RSFO) Resource Management Plan (RMP) Solid Mineral Occurrence and Development Potential Report is now available.
The Solid Mineral Occurrence and Development Potential Report assesses solid leasable, locatable and saleable minerals within the Rock Springs planning area and the importance of these resources in future land use decisions. The report does not include oil, gas, and coal bed natural gas resources in the Rock Springs planning area. Those resources will be analyzed in a future report.
The Rock Springs RMP revision and associated Environment Impact Statement (EIS) process began in February 2011. A comprehensive travel and transportation management plan was incorporated into the planning effort in October 2012. The EIS will analyze the impacts of various resource uses and include alternatives for managing approximately 3.6 million surface land acres and 3.5 million acres of mineral estate administered by the BLM in portions of Lincoln, Sweetwater, Uinta, Sublette and Fremont counties in southwestern Wyoming.
