Rats!

Earlier in the week, Town of Pinedale Animal Control officer Julie Early was dispatched to a complaint of numerous rats on the loose by the Pinedale golf course. A resident reportedly turned the rats loose after his snake died. It is uncertain how many rats were released, but it is believed to be somewhere between 50 to 100, Early said. The rats were used for food for the snake.
The animals appear to be localized in the area between Par Avenue and Country Club Lane. Traps have been set and many of the rodents have already been caught. Early said the rats are from 3 to 8 inches in length, mostly white with brown spots. Some are solid brown.
Early said there is no health risk with these animals, however they are a nuisance and need to be removed. Anyone who sees any of these rats, and does not wish to dispose of them themselves, can call Julie at 307-749-7778.
