Blasted moon surface Photo by Dave Bell, using his new 2x multiplyer on the 400mm lens.

Dave Bell has a new 2X extender that lets him zoom to 800mm with his telephoto lens. He posted this incredibly detailed moon shot on Sunday, Nov. 10th. "Yes, I have published quite a few shots of the moon in the past month. For a couple reasons, including requests, I have repeated clear night moon shots. However, tonight was my first attempt to use a new 2X Extender which doubles the reach of my 400mm. For those who know my 400mm is old, scratched, dented and heavy. Weighing in at a hefty 21 pounds, it is definitely old school and not exactly portable. Steel is good, and this baby has new life with a new version of the 2X Extender which effectively doubles my 400mm to an 800mm.
