Pinedale Glaciers play first games of the season

The Pinedale Glaciers had a busy weekend playing the first official Wyoming Amateur Hockey League (WAHL) games of the season with three teams playing a total of eight games November 15, 16, and 17.
The Squirts (age 9-10) started the weekend off with a big win against Casper Oiler Reds, 13-1 Friday night in Casper. Saturday morning brought another victory for Pinedale against the Red, 10-1. Squirts then went up against the Casper Oiler White Saturday afternoon, coming out with another win, 5-1. Sunday morning the Squirts earned their final victory for the weekend against the White at 3-1. Bridger Smith garnered himself an amazing four Hat Tricks over the weekend, with two in the same game. When a player scores three goals in one game it is referred to as a Hat Trick.
The Peewees (age 11-12) played two games against the Gillette Wild at the Sublette County Ice Arena in Pinedale. Saturday night’s game resulted in a close loss for Pinedale of 2-5. Although Pinedale scored the first goal of the game on Sunday, the Wild ended up taking the win 7-3.
The High School Midgets (age 15 up) travelled to Laramie to play the Outlaws. These contests resulted in victory for the Glaciers. Saturday night the Glaciers landed a win of 9-5, and Sunday morning found Pinedale again on top at 7-1. Chase Grove earned a Hat Trick during Sunday’s game.
