Wreath Auction Dec. 6th
Fundraiser for the Museum of the Mountain Man
December 5, 2013
The Museum of the Mountain Man/Sublette County Historical Society 20th Annual Wreath and Chocolate Auction will be held on Friday, December 6th in the Lovatt Room of the Pinedale Library. Cocktails and Social start at 6PM. The Silent and Live Auctions start at 7PM.
This event is a chance to see and bid on beautiful hand-made wreaths, garlands and holiday greenery decorations made by people in the community. Each creation is a work of art that reflects the creativity and often a theme of the donor. The wreaths are auctioned off at the live auction, with Jay Fear serving as auctioneer. There will also be a silent auction for wonderful chocolate creations and gift baskets. Catering is by Sue Eversull and Wind River Brewing Company, generously sponsored by First Bank.
This event is the main fundraiser of the year for the Museum of the Mountain Man. All proceeds go to support 2014 programs and projects. The 15,000 square foot Museum is open daily May through September 30th. Special programs include Living History Days in May, three days of hands-on learning demonstrations by the American Mountain Men for nearly 1,000 school children from around western Wyoming. In July, the Museum offers four days of history presentations and speakers during Green River Rendezvous Days. The Museum publishes the Rocky Mountain Fur Trade Journal, an annual academic peer-reviewed publication intended to further the knowledge base and discussion of the Rocky Mountain fur trade era and provide an avenue for researchers to showcase their work. The Museum is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation. Donations are greatly appreciated and are tax-deductable.
