Brian James McDonald was in Sublette County Circuit Court this afternoon for a preliminary hearing to establish probable cause on the charges filed against him last week. Judge Curt Haws heard arguments from Sublette County Attorney Neal Stelting and public defender Elisabeth Trefonas. Evidence was also presented pertaining to a glove found at the crime scene in 2010 that matched a DNA sample provided by the defendant during the course of a recent assault investigation.

Judge Haws ruled that the State had satisfied the burden of proof requirements for probable cause for each of the five charges filed. The charges will be bound over to the Ninth District Court for trial.
