McDonald case to go to trial

Brian James McDonald appeared for an arraignment hearing in the Sublette County Courthouse on Wednesday, August 6th before 9th District Court Judge Marvin Tyler. McDonald pled not guilty to all five charges against him.
McDonald is accused of entering a home and brutally attacking a Pinedale woman, Jacie Rose, as she slept in her bed in 2010. McDonald is charged with five felony counts: Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Aggravated Assault and Battery, Possession of a Deadly Weapon with Unlawful Intent, and Aggravated Burglary. McDonald was arrested on July 10th, 2014, four years after the attack. He is being represented by public defender Elisabeth Trefonas.
His case will move forward to a jury trial tentatively scheduled for January 2015. McDonald remains in custody in the Sublette County Jail with bail set at a million dollar cash bond.
