Jonah Energy grieves the passing of Mick McMurry

It is with great sadness that the Jonah Energy Team learned of the passing of Mick McMurry. The legacy he leaves behind in the Jonah Field and beyond cannot be measured. We have seen his vision grow into one of the nation’s most prolific gas fields, a major driver of Wyoming’s economy and most importantly an example of how to pay it forward. We are honored to operate the field that Mick built.
He conducted himself with grace, professionalism and a western code of conduct that we all strive to achieve. The Jonah Field is legendary in the oil and gas industry, and Mick’s remarkable foresight and hard work helped create that legend. When we named our company Jonah Energy, it was meant to honor the people who built the field into a world-class resource. Mick was a significant part of that inspiration.
Mick’s most lasting legacy will be his humble, generous nature. Few have ever done more to give back to Wyoming.
The men and women of the Jonah Field are in debt to Mick. We are proud to continue a legacy of hard work, passion, integrity and respect. Our thoughts and prayers are with Susie and the entire McMurry family.
