Death notice: Mike ‘SilverHawk’ Powell

Michael James Powell, 56, of Newdale, Idaho, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in Idaho from complications of a heart attack. He belonged to the American Mountain Man Association (AMM) and was known as "SilverHawk." He was very active helping the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale, Wyoming, volunteering countless hours and many years helping with school tours during Living History Days and with Green River Rendezvous. He helped with many of the fur trade history displays at the Museum. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, and children, Arwen (Jason) Aikele, of Shelley; Michael D. Powell, of Newdale; Gwendolyn Moa, of Rexburg; Anthony (Katie) Powell, of Pocatello; Madalyn (Trevor) Platt, of Washington; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 8, 2015, at the LDS church in Newdale, Idaho. Interment was in the Wilford Cemetery in Idaho.
