Weather Update, snow on the way, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, 2PM: A cold front will bring the first snow of the season to many lower elevation areas of western Wyoming tonight. Rain mixed with wet snow below 6,000 feet. Snow may not stick at higher elevations, but motorists should be prepared for slick roads in spots and rapidly changing weather conditions later tonight as the front settles in. Snow accumulations at and below 6000 feet will be well below an inch in most low elevation areas. 1 to 3 inches of wet snow above 7000 feet with slick roads at mountain pass level the primary impact. A cold front will bring increasing rain and snow across the west Sunday and Sunday night with snow levels lowering to valley floors by Sunday evening. A Canadian cold front will spread areas of snow and colder temperatures south across central Wyoming Tuesday morning. Areas of snow will continue into Wednesday with the heaviest snow possible Tuesday and Tuesday night. Drivers should be prepared for winter driving conditions and areas of limited visibility across much of the area.
