by Green River Valley Land Trust November 5, 2015 Boulder landowners DeWitt and Katherine Morris have donated a conservation easement on a 280 acre portion of their Mountain Springs Ranch, located just below the Scab Creek Elk Feed Ground and adjacent to the Red Desert to Hoback Mule Deer Migration Route. The Lake Unit easement is designed to prevent fragmentation of critical wildlife habitat, preserve historic ranching activities and allow hunting and other recreational uses forever. The ranch is home to many important species of wildlife as well as Camp GROW (Green River Outreach for Wilderness; please see www.greenriverfoundation.com), a non-profit youth camp focused on fostering respect and caring for wilderness through adventure and faith. |
