The Great Outdoor Shop is located at 332 W Pine Street in Pinedale. They carry a wide variety of outdoor recreation equipment and their sales staff is very knowledgeable not only about the items they sell, but also the places to go around the area for hiking, fishing, backpacking and other outdoor recreation.
They carry name-brand outdoor clothing for men, women and children from warm coats, gloves and mittens, hats, face protection, vests, thermal wear, outdoor wear socks, hiking boots and outdoor shoes.
For winter they have skis and snowboards, helmets, goggles, poles, waxes, headlights, avalanche beacons, GPS and compasses, snow shovels, snow shoes and much more. For summer they carry trail maps and guide books, hiking boots and trail footwear, many kinds of comfortable socks, walking sticks, trail foods and camp kitchen gear, backpacks, sleeping bags, tents, bear spray, fly fishing poles and equipment, fishing flies and lures, and much more.
They offer guided fly fishing trips to some of the most secluded trout waters in the Rockies. Their guides have been fishing and guiding the waters of the Green and New Fork River for over three decades. They have expert fishing guides and cater to anglers of all abilities. They offer a wide selection of outdoor recreation rental equipment including skis and snowboards, and fly fishing, backpacking or mountaineering equipment.
Their Great Outdoor Transportation Company provides custom transportation services for all your outdoor recreation needs. They specialize in shuttling from regional airports to locations in and around Pinedale and to area trailheads and boat ramps for your fishing trip.
They are usually open 7 days a week. Their regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 8AM to 7PM and on Sundays from 8AM to 6PM. They will be open late on Christmas Eve, until 8 or 9 on Thursday, Dec. 24th for last minute shoppers. They will be closed for the holiday on Christmas Day, Friday, Dec. 25th, then open again for their regular hours again on Saturday.
