The 2016 Wyoming State 4-H Leadership team, including Sublette County 4-Hers McKenzie Davison of Big Piney and Taylor Ruckman of Pinedale (not able to attend) recently traveled to Cheyenne to experience the legislative process in action, meet with their local legislators, and Governor Mead.
The team spent a morning touring the senate and house floors with Representative Albert Sommers and Senator Stan Cooper and attending committee meetings. The team was able to attend the Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources committee and hear Representative Sommers present his bill HJ0004 Gray Wolves and Grizzly Bears. Following the committee meetings, they observed both the House and Senate convene. Finally, they met with Governor Mead where they were able to ask a variety of insightful and meaningful questions on current issues including natural resource development in our state, regulation on our extraction industries, the economic forecast for Wyoming and the economic diversification of efforts in our state.
The state 4-H leadership team consists of a total of seven youth selected from throughout the state via application and interview process to represent Wyoming 4-H and youth.
