The Pinedale Fine Arts Council (PFAC) is proud to present Austin, TX based honky-tonk bands Paul Nipper and Rance May performing live Saturday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sublette County Fairgrounds Ag Building (doors at 7 p.m.). Nipper and May will be performing as part of PFAC’s annual Kentucky Derby Party Fundraiser. This is the concert portion of the Derby event and is open to everyone so you don’t need a Kentucky Derby Ticket to attend! Just pay $10 at the door and bring your dancin’ shoes/boots! All concert proceeds benefit arts.
Promoting their"Texasota" documentary with a Spring Tour - 2016, Nipper and May will be playing 15 dates across 7 states spanning just over three weeks. Each artist will be promoting their respective albums as well. Rance May's "Malnourished" and Paul Nipper's "Rumble Strips" are being released just before the tour kicked off.
Nipper came up listening to the best of solid-gold honky tonk and traditional country music. You can hear it in his songs. His heart lies with bits and pieces of every strain of southern sound. You're sure to catch drops of blues, southern rock, and even a little folk sifting through the cracks. Whether in a smoke filled honky tonk playing over a crowded dance floor or picking at a bonfire with friends, his music is sure to make your blood flow.
Rance grew up in Anahuac, a small South East Texas town near Beaumont. Listening to artists with heavy influences such as George Jones, John Prine, George Strait, Merle Haggard and David Allan Coe, gave him a strong passion for country music, real country music.
