Mud covered tail lights Safety tip: Be sure to check your tail lights to see if they are visible and clean them off if they need it.

As we get into fall and mud season, if you’ve been out on muddy roads be sure to check to make sure your tail lights are cleaned off before you get out on the main roads again. We’ve heard of tragic accidents and deaths from people who were rear ended at night because the people behind them couldn’t see their lights and brakes come on. Typically you wouldn’t know they are mudded up unless someone tells you or you walk back and check them, so this is your Mom Helpful Suggestion/Reminder to go out and look. If you’re really nice and believe in chalking up Brownie Points for good deeds, you might clean not only yours but your spouses or a friends too if you see they need it.
