Sublette EMS adds third ALS Provider
by Sublette County Rural Health Care District
October 30, 2017
Sublette EMS provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance services through the Sublette County region for 24/7/365 coverage. Each ambulance is staffed with two state-licensed Emergency Medical Technicians (Basic, Intermediate, and/or Paramedic) who receive ongoing skills development and quality assurance guidance. This month, Sublette EMS added a third ALS Provider at the Marbleton Emergency Unit to respond after hours and on weekends to a second 911 when the first Big Piney/Marbleton ambulance is responding to a first call.
"This is the best immediate solution the District has come to to meet the current demand," said Bill Kluck, Sublette County EMS Operations Director. "Our long term goal is to have the revenue to keep this service and the critical access hospital designation will help us sustain 24/7/365 coverage. It is just a matter of time."
How 24/7/365 emergency coverage works The third ALS Provider will go out on a 911 when there is not an ambulance in Big Piney/Marbleton station. If there is an ambulance, then this third ALS provider will remain at the station for a possible next call. Sublette EMS will continue to immediately send an ambulance from the Pinedale Emergency Unit to the Marbleton Emergency Unit when their first ambulance is out. When the first two ambulances are out, the third ambulance is stationed in Daniel ready to respond and cover the entire county.
Currently, the Sublette County Rural Health Care District is seeking an experienced, full time Paramedic to join the emergency service team. Interested parties may send a cover letter and resume attention to Bill Kluck, EMS Operations Director at billk@sublettehealthcare.com.
