Museum Board meeting Sept. 5 in Pinedale
September 5, 2018
The Sublette County Museum Board has one vacancy. The board is having a meeting at noon on Wednesday, September 5th at the Patio Grill in Pinedale for a discussion of officers for the new year and will also discuss ideas for a new member.
Museum Board meetings are open to the public. The public is welcome to listen to the discussions or express their interest in being on the board. Current Board President is Mark Eatinger. Board appointments run three years. Officers are voted internally annually.
The Museum Board members are appointed by the Sublette County Commissioners. The Sublette County Museum Board collects and reviews requests for County funds from Sublette County's two private non-profit museums, the Museum of the Mountain Man and the Green River Valley Museum. The Board presents these requests, along with its own recommendations, to the County Commission during the annual budget session. Other Board operations may be agreed upon by the members and include updating and maintaining historical signs on County byways, placement of historic grave markers, and support for students attending National History Days in Washington, DC.
