Walk a portion of the Lander Trail and experience some of what they experienced and saw. From 1859 to 1869, approximately 50,000 emigrants headed for Oregon and California crossed through the Green River Valley on the Lander Trail wagon road. Wagons were for supplies, so most people walked or rode horses on the 2,000 mile journey. Hike led by Clint Gilchrist, Executive Director of the Museum of the Mountain Man.

Open to all ages. Must be able to walk at least 2 miles on uneven hilly terrain to reach the Big Sandy River at Buckskin Crossing. Wear good walking shoes, hat, sunscreen, bring water bottle. Free, but please register to reserve your place on the bus by calling the Museum at 307-367-4101 or online at Sublette BOCES, www.subletteboces.com/register. Will meet the bus at the Museum at 9AM Saturday morning to take to drop-off destination. Back at Museum by 2PM. Parking is limited where we are going, so we encourage participants to take the bus.
