July Garden Of Beauty - Bettina and Rollie Sparrowe
by Sage & Snow Garden Club
July 22, 2019
The Sage and Snow’s first Garden of Beauty Award for 2019 is Bettina and Rollie Sparrowe and Amos Flood at 10 Nighthawk Lake in Daniel. These adventurous gardeners grow just about every flower that can live in Sublette County. Their extensive perennial gardens include bachelor buttons, peonies, delphiniums, poppies, fireweed, catmint, Siberian wall flower, and iris of many colors. For hosta lovers, they grow several colorful varieties in the shade. Their beautiful yard is dotted with rhubarb, raspberries, currants, lilacs, roses, honeysuckle, and native trees. Bettina and Amos tend a large vegetable garden with peas, carrots, turnips, garlic, beets, lettuce, kale, and chard. A little greenhouse is filled with bush beans, tomatoes, and cantaloupe growing in ranch lick tubs. Bettina and Rollie’s gardens will be the first stop on the Sage and Snow Garden Tour on August 3, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the tour, which includes three stops with refreshments and dinner.
