SCSD 1 developing Remote Learning Plan for schools

March 24, 2020
Earlier this week, the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) informed school districts that they needed to be prepared to provide remote learning opportunities to our students after April 3rd. While they noted neither the WDE nor the Governor's office have determined what will occur after April 3rd, every school district was strongly encouraged to start planning now for ways to provide educational opportunities to their students. Sublette County School District 1 (SCSD1) would like to inform our constituents that a Remote Learning Plan for our students is currently being developed. SCSD 1 is using our time during the period of mandated closure of March 23-April 3 to develop this plan. It is our intent to release this plan to our families on or before March 27th so that our families can plan accordingly. It is also our intent to utilize the plan to provide enrichment activities during the week of March 30-April 3 to allow our students and families to become accustomed to this new method for instructional delivery, should it need to be implemented on a large scale.
"This is without a doubt, a very challenging time for the SCSD 1 community," said Jay Harnack, Superintendent. "Our staff is working extremely hard to ensure that we will be able to provide instruction, resources and support for students and families, should we be required to do so remotely."
"I would like to ask our community members for their patience during these unprecedented times as we work through the challenge of keeping our community safe and continuing the academic progress of our students."
