The Sublette COVID-19 Response Team held their regular Wednesday community update on April 15th.
Highlights: - As of today, there are 287 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Wyoming. Sublette County has had only 1 confirmed case, who is now recovered. No one is on the quarantine list as of today. 6 people are self-isolating. - Wyoming health officials got confirmation of a second COVID-related death in Wyoming. This was an elderly man who had been hospitalized in Laramie County. - Health officials ask residents to keep up the good work of social distancing and staying at home as much as possible. It is working and helping. - The clinics are still open for all services, not just COVID-19 situations. There are safety precautions for getting into the clinic. Best to call first. - Health people will start doing calls to people who are on their list of having chronic conditions so they can check on them and see how they are doing. - If anyone needs help with anything, the helpline is still open weekdays. People who may have questions or need help can call 307-209-4037 or email sublettecovidvolunteers@gmail.com. - Dr. Fitzsimmons urges people not to let their guard down. This is a dangerous virus that isn’t gone yet. Health officials are expecting more activity to come our way. - The clinics are getting more testing capability through private labs. If someone has flu-like symptoms and thinks they should be tested, call the clinic and talk with them about it. They will discuss testing options with you. Tests sent to private labs are paid by the patient through their insurance. - They have had questions about antibody testing. So far there isn’t a completely dependable, accurate and reliable test. They hope one will become available soon. - There is no evidence at this time of community spread of the COVID-19 virus in Sublette County. Our cases have come from people coming in contact with other confirmed cases. That is why staying home and away from other people is so important right now.
