July 23, 2021
COVID case numbers continue to increase in Sublette County. The Wyoming Department of Health reports there have been 16 new COVID-19 cases in Sublette County in the past week. There are currently 16 active cases in Sublette County, with 810 recoveries and 7 deaths, for a total of 833 cases since the pandemic began. Individuals are quarantining/isolating in the communities of Big Piney, Boulder, Marbleton, and Pinedale.
The Sublette Center has notified their residents, family members and community of a new outbreak in their facility. Although the outbreak is small in terms of numbers, it does involve both vaccinated and unvaccinated people. The Sublette Center has increased testing for staff and residents and is taking the utmost precautions to prevent further cases in their facility. The Sublette Center remains closed to visitors through July 29th in an effort to protect vulnerable residents from the uptick in community cases.
Sublette County Public Health has been notified that both the Delta (B.1.617.2) and the UK (B.1.1.7) Variants have been identified in lab specimens from Sublette County COVID-19 cases. The CDC reports that these variants seem to spread more easily and quickly than other variants, which may lead to more cases of COVID-19 and increased hospitalizations.
What to Watch Out For If you experience any of the following: fever, persistent cough, loss of taste or smell, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, a sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea; or if you have had exposure to a positive case, please call the Pinedale or Marbleton Clinic to schedule testing. Public Health continues to offer a free testing voucher for uninsured or underinsured individuals.
