The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say "thank you" to nurses in a very public way.

The Sublette County Hospital District is looking for nominations for local nurses for the 2022 DAISY award. If you have a nurse you would like to nominate, please visit www.sublettehospitaldistrict.org and download the short form. Paper forms can also be picked up at either Clinic or the Sublette Center.

Nominations are due April 29th.

Past winners in Sublette County include: Amanda Maxam, Leslie Hagenstein, Amy Deeds, Julie Woolwine, Katie Hoffman, and Vicky Marshall. Public Health won a DAISY Team award in 2021 for their incredible work during the pandemic.

The DAISY award is given in over 5,000 healthcare facilities and schools of nursing in all 50 states and 31 other countries and territories. If you have been the recipient of extraordinary care by a nurse and would like to nominate her or him, please take the time to do so. We look forward to honoring another incredible nurse.
