Town residents encouraged to run a water line bleeder
January 15, 2024
The Town of Pinedale encourages residents on the Town water system to run a bleeder continuously in the winter to prevent your water line pipes from freezing. A pencil lead size stream of continuous water is adequate to keep water line open. This can be in a sink, bathtub, or a dedicated bleeder line on your water system. From November 15 to April 14, the Town allocates most water users 40,000 extra gallons each month at no additional cost. This is a preventative measure for residents to keep their lines from freezing in their homes and it saves the Town staff time and money by minimizing expensive street repairs for frozen water lines. The bleeder applies only to residents on Town of Pinedale water system. Those on rural individual wells with septic systems should not run a bleeder line.
