Gaye Fletcher of Pinedale, Wyoming died Monday, July 14, 2025 in Pinedale. She was born June 3, 1941 in Montpelier, Idaho to Ray and Jean Dimond.
Gaye’s early years included time spent on the family ranch on the Hams Fork river and great times in Cokeville with her cousins. She graduated from Rock Springs High School before attending and graduating from St. Benedict’s Nursing School in Ogden, Utah.
In 1961 Gaye married Gil Fletcher and they grew their family to include four children. Gil and Gaye relocated their young family to Pinedale in 1971. Even though Gaye hated Pinedale upon arrival, she grew to love the little mountain town. The people of Pinedale grew to love her as well. As a nurse at the clinic, retirement center and public health, she helped and comforted many people in this community. She had a quiet strength that often went unnoticed, but this was one of her greatest gifts.
Family was most important to Gaye. She loved little kids. Being married to Gil meant you were married to a very social person and your home always had an open door. She was the quiet partner behind the scenes always making sure people were fed, comforted, sometimes bandaged and always valued.
Gaye was preceded in death by her husband, G.W. Fletcher, and her sons Robb and Ken. She will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by daughters Jean Johnson and Holli (Bruce) Redmond, grandchildren Jacob (Ashlee) and Eli Johnson, Cody and Zayne Lunde, Dustin and Cole Redmond, and Mikala Fletcher. Great grandchildren Brindee and Kyzlee Redmond and Kamdyn Johnson.
