Wednesday, September 24th will be the final update for the Dollar Lake Fire. Fire information is posted on Inciweb at https://inciweb.wildfire.gov/wybtf-dollar-lake-fire
FIRE ACTIVITY: The Dollar Lake Fire is 19,470 acres and is 63% contained. The incident management team continues to implement the adjusted tactics within the wilderness portion of the fire area, as outlined in the previous update. This decision remains in effect due to the ongoing alignment of current fire behavior, terrain challenges, and firefighter safety considerations. Fire activity remains minimal within the wilderness, and recent moisture continues to moderate conditions. The steep, inaccessible terrain and high concentration of snags still present significant hazards, reinforcing the need to limit direct engagement in these areas. The natural features of the Bridger Wilderness—such as granite ridges and discontinuous fuels—continue to serve as effective barriers to fire spread. Tracking and assessing efforts continue. Crews are using a combination of infrared flights, unmanned aircraft systems, and helicopter reconnaissance to track fire activity. If conditions change and fire moves beyond established containment lines or natural barriers, firefighters are prepared to respond. The safety of firefighters and the public remains the top priority as the team continues to manage the fire in alignment with current conditions and values at risk. The Wyoming Incident Management Team 4 is preparing to transfer the fire to the local unit (Bridger Teton NF) Type 4 incident commander the evening of 9/24/25. This transition marks a key milestone. With most of the suppression repair work completed and no significant fire activity anticipated beyond established containment lines, the incident no longer requires a large national team. Local agencies are now prepared to assume responsibility for patrol, monitoring, and recovery operations. Firefighter presence is to be expected in the Moose/Gypsum Road area, as well as Green River Lakes Road area. WEATHER: Rainstorms passed through the area Monday, bringing in a new system. Tuesday is expected to be dry and cool, and about 10 degrees warmer with a high of 67 degrees F. Winds will be light and variable. The warming and drying trend is expected to continue throughout the rest of the week with minimal fire weather expected. CLOSURES: The Bridger-Teton National Forest has issued a closure order for the Dollar Lake Fire area. https://www.fs.usda.gov/r04/bridger-teton/alerts/dollar-lake-fire-emergency-area-road-and-trail-closure EVACUATIONS: For evacuation information: https://www.sublettecountywy.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=501 TFR INFORMATION: FAA TFR: https://tfr.faa.gov/tfr3/?page=detail_5_8626Dollar Lake Fire 2025 DollarLake@firenet.gov 307-395-2365
