PINEDALE, WYOMING — Sublette County Health has been surveyed by the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ) and has successfully met the requirements for Hospital Accreditation by demonstrating compliance with CIHQ Standards and the Conditions of Participation by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This recognition reflects the hospital’s continuous commitment to safety and quality patient care.
Sublette County Health’s hospital was subjected to a rigorous unannounced onsite assessment on Sept. 9–11, 2025. The CIHQ team toured the hospital, reviewed medical records, observed care practices, evaluated policy and procedure manuals, and interviewed staff and patients. "CIHQ’s goal is to partner with hospitals to improve the care provided in our communities," states Richard Curtis, Chief Executive Officer of CIHQ. "CIHQ is proud to recognize Sublette County Health for achieving accreditation."
For Sublette County Health, the survey was both a challenge and an opportunity. "As a hospital going through this process for the very first time, CIHQ was an invaluable resource—from submitting our application and identifying needed policies to guiding us through the survey itself," said Kristy Bartlett, Director of Quality. "To achieve accreditation, we examined every detail with a fine-toothed comb: pharmacy, credentialing, infection control, Human Resources, clinical services, patient care, and quality. It was truly a team effort at every level of our organization."
That spirit of teamwork was echoed by Lindsey Bond, Chief Operating Officer. "Choosing CIHQ as our accrediting organization was a wise decision. They’ve been true partners, guiding us through every step. I’m incredibly proud of the SCHD leadership team—remarkable people who have worked tirelessly to prepare for this milestone. Their dedication shows how we approach every challenge: with determination to achieve excellence, because our community deserves nothing less."
Bill Patten, Interim Chief Executive Officer for Sublette County Health, underscored the significance of the achievement. "Opening a brand-new hospital, especially in rural America, is very unusual. The meticulous preparation that the SCH team performed is praiseworthy! We were evaluated against hundreds of standards. The community should be proud of the accomplishment of this special group of healthcare professionals."
Together, these voices reflect a shared commitment to excellence, patient safety, and the health of the community. Accreditation is not just a milestone for Sublette County Health—it is a promise to continue striving for the highest standards of care for the people of Sublette County.
