Bear & Lion Country Workshop April 19

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department and the Bridger-Teton National Forest will be offering two 'Living in Bear and Lion Country' workshops this month. These are community workshops focusing on how to safely coexist with bears and mountain lions. The workshops are free but space is limited, so participants are asked to call the Game and Fish and reserve their spot ahead of time. There will be workshops offered in Jackson at Snow King on Monday, April 18, 2005 and in Pinedale at the library on Tuesday April 19, 2005. All workshops will begin at 6:30 pm.
Participants will hear practical information and techniques on how to safely coexist with bears and mountain lions from local experts. The workshop will cover a variety of topics while providing common sense information on how to avoid conflicts with black bears, grizzly bears and mountain lions. Participants will also learn background information on bear and mountain lion distribution, bear sign and identification, proper food storage, as well as ways of protecting yourself in the event of a bear or mountain lion conflict.
