Sublette County ‘FREE’ Day at the Museum of the Mountain Man

The Museum of the Mountain Man is proud to present the newly published book by Jeannette Showers Moore, "Sundown - Early Days of the Circle S Ranch in Sublette County, Wyoming". A book signing will be held on Saturday, June 2, from 1-3 PM at the Museum in Pinedale. The book signing is being held in conjunction with the Museum’s annual “Sublette County FREE Day” where Sublette County residents are invited to visit their museum in Pinedale free of charge.
Jeannette Showers Moore, who turns 89 this month, grew up on the Circle S Ranch in the Upper Green. Her book is a wonderful collection of stories of her life on the ranch, life as a kid, family outings, married life with husband “Buck” Moore, outfitting and guiding, women’s work, and much more. In a friendly, easy-going writing style, she pulls the reader into her life during the early 1900s in Wyoming.
The book was published by the Museum of the Mountain Man with funding made possible in part by the Sublette County Commissioners through the Sublette County Museum Board, as well as revenue from the sales of other books by the Museum. Layout and design of the book was done by graphic artist Sue Sommers in Pinedale with WRWS Design (Disclosure: WRWS Design is owned by Wind River Web Services, parent company of this Pinedale Online website.)
The Museum is open daily for the summer season from 9 AM to 5 PM. The book signing will be on Saturday from 1-3 PM. Jeannette and her family will be special guests at the reception. Books cost $19.95 each. The author is generously donating the proceeds to go to benefit the Museum of the Mountain Man. Cake, coffee and punch will be on hand at the reception.
