July 23, 2007

The Budweiser Clydesdale team and wagon made an appearance in Pinedale on Friday, and in Big Piney and Marbleton on Thursday, as part of a promotional tour of the area. They made "traditional beer deliveries" to bars in Pinedale, Marbleton and Big Piney, reminescent of how it was done in years gone by. Townspeople congregated along the streets to watch the majestic team and elaborate wagon and take pictures. The tour was arranged by Western Wyoming Beverages Inc out of Rock Springs.

Clydesdales derived from working draft horses from Clydesdale, Scotland, and are named for that region. Adults grow to 6 feet tall and can weigh over one ton, 2,000 pounds. Today, most are used for display and exhibition. Anheuser-Busch beer company uses these animals and wagon as a mascot, which travels around the country for exhibition purposes. The company is based in St. Louis, Missouri. However, this team and crew base out of California and travel 11 months out of the year on tour. After traveling through Big Piney, Marbleton and Pinedale, the team went to Cora for a private party and rodeo at the CL Bar Ranch.
