Pole Fire called Controlled
Fire near Pinedale, Wyoming
by Bridger-Teton National Forest
July 16, 2007

(Pinedale) – The Pole Fire, which started one and a half miles east of the town of Pinedale, Wyoming on Thursday, July 12 has been contained at 1044 acres. Containment means that firefighters have a fuel break around the fire. This break may include natural barriers or manually constructed fire line which is free of vegetation. Officials declared the fire controlled at 7:00pm on Sunday, July 16. Controlled fires mean that flare-ups within the fire perimeter should not break through the fuel break and firefighters should be able to keep it from spreading into new, unburned areas.

There are 55 fire personnel working on the fire and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Sublette County is in charge of the Pole Fire and will continue to work on the fire until it is extinguished. For more information, visit www.inciweb.org.
