5:45 PM Update: More information from the Pinedale Ranger District, Bridger-Teton National Forest, on the new wildfire burning in the Upper Green. Officially called the Salt Lick Fire, the new blaze is burning east of Highway 352, which is the road to Green River Lakes. The fire is estimated at 1000 acres as of 1700 hours today (5:00 PM). Officials have no idea at this time of the cause of this fire. It was reported around 12:30 this afternoon.

- The fire is burning near where the Jim Creek fire was last year, approximately ¾ mile from the end of the 711 road. This fire is outside of the Bridger Wilderness and is being managed as a full suppression wildfire.

- Red Cliff Bible Camp has evacuated their camp personnel. Red Cliff evacuated the camp on their own, not under an evacuation order from the Forest Service. Men are remaining at the camp to help as needed. The Forest Service has posted two lookouts around Red Cliff to monitor the status of the Bible Camp. The camp is not considered in danger at the time of this report.

- The homes in the Moose-Gypsum subdivision are southwest of the fire and are not considered threatened at this time.

- Forest Service and Sublette County firefighters and engines are on the scene of this fire. One Forest Service helicopter is assisting.

- Road Closures:
#710 Jim Creek Road is closed off of Hwy 352.
#680 Moose-Gypsum Road is closed off of Hwy 352.
#711 Jim Creek Road off of #710 Jim Creek Road is closed.

- For anyone concerned about this fire this evening wanting more information, contact the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office, 307-367-4378. More precise information, fire fact sheet and map showing the fire location will be available tomorrow from the Forest Service. The Pinedale Ranger District office will be open for calls tomorrow at 307-367-4326. Updates will be posted here on Pinedale Online and broadcast on Pinedale’s KPIN 101.1 FM Radio as it comes in this evening and throughout the duration of this fire.
