New Pinedale Medical Clinic to offer CT Scanner
Taking appointments now
by Sublette County Rural Health Care District
October 23, 2007

(Pinedale) - As the Pinedale Clinic expansion nears completion, the benefits to patients in terms of space are apparent to the passerby. But it’s what’s happening on the inside that will soon bring much anticipated high-tech options to the heart of the community. One example is the clinic’s newly installed state-of-the-art CT scanner, which will allow patients the benefits of advanced diagnostic imaging without having to make the long trip out of town.

“Before, if a patient had an injury or chronic condition that required a scan, they’d have to take a drive out to Jackson or Rock Springs. With an in-house CT, we can offer that same service without the added time, cost, and stress of taking a longer trip.” says Randy Johnson, spokesman for the Sublette County Rural Healthcare District. “Good medical care should always take into consideration convenience to the patient, and we have made that a huge consideration as part of the clinic’s planned expansion.”

The introduction of the technology also allows the clinic to take critical illness and injury information online. “This new CT image interpretation is done completely online which is big for the clinic and our patients for a number of reasons, says Laura Clark, Director of Radiology for the Sublette County Health District. “Patient scan information is sent simultaneously to an offsite radiologist. And in most cases, we can get results in minutes as opposed to several hours or days. This will apply to general x-ray studies, as well. Additionally, online patient data is a lot easier to access as opposed to hardcopy records and film which has to be physically transported from one office or location to the other.”

The Toshiba Aquilion Quad Slice CT is the first of its kind in the county. Its state-of-the-art technologies promote a comfortable, safe CT scanning experience for patients including shorter examination times, single breath-hold scanning, and reduced X-ray exposure.

While local diagnostic imaging provides a much needed convenience to Sublette County residents, close relationships between the clinics, the addition of licensed Radiologic Technologist experienced in CT and expert radiologists and physicians at St. John’s Hospitals in Jackson and possibly other facilities, ensure a seamless and sound patient experience.

Adds Johnson, “The addition of this advanced CT will allow the communities of Sublette County to continue to enjoy living in a rural setting without sacrificing quality of care.”

Appointments for CT Scanning being taken now
Although Pinedale Clinic’s grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony is yet a month away, the facility is anxious to begin providing the convenience of local CT scanning to the community. If your doctor has required that you schedule a CT scan, please contact Laura Clark at either the Pinedale Medical Clinic (307-367-4133) or Marbleton-Big Piney Clinic (307-276-3306) to schedule an appointment.
