The Pinedale Fine Arts Council presentation of the tenor trio "Romanza" serenaded Pinedalians with operatic ballads as well as a few modern pop songs Tuesday evening, February 10th, at the Pinedale Auditorium.

They performed as soloists and as a trio, including: "Torna a Sorriento," "Funiculi, Funicula," "Hymne a l'Amour," "Ideale," "Danny Boy," "You Don’t Know Me," "Lonesome Road," "The First Time I Saw Your Face" as well as "O Sole Mio."

    Romanza member Frederik Robert and the rest of the trio members gave fantastic singing presentation while also entertaining the audience with humorous anecdotes and tales between the music.

    Before singing "Danny Boy," Romanza member Todd Jang told the audience that his music teacher was convinced that this song was his mother’s favorite. The music teacher had Jang’s mother stand for the song, when she actually detested the tune.

    Romanza member Philip Grant shared that the song "I’ll Walk with God" inspired him to become a singer and study the art. Later, Grant said that he decided since the song is what got him into school it could get him out of college loan debt as well, and the tune became his signature piece for paid performances.

    Final Bow
    The classically trained singing trio performed opera hits, Italian favorites as well as a few love ballads before bring the show to a close with "O Sole Mio" followed by a final bow.
