BLM seeks public input on the proposed LaBarge Platform Infill Oil and Gas project
by Bureau of Land Management
July 28, 2009

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office is seeking public comment on EOG Resources’ proposal to drill approximately 604 natural gas wells from 454 new well pads within the LaBarge Platform field over a ten-year period.

BLM will prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) analyzing the proposed infill project, covering 218,000 acres in Sublette and Lincoln counties on both sides of the Green River. BLM will also analyze an additional 400 wells anticipated to be drilled in the project area by other companies.

The public is encouraged to submit comments from August 3 through September 16, 2009, providing an opportunity for public review and submission of pertinent information to assist BLM in the development of the Draft EIS.

Comments should be constructive and relate directly to this proposal and impending EIS. Please be as specific as possible and cite any data or other information that you believe would assist BLM in developing the most realistic range of alternative actions and the best-informed environmental impact analysis.

The BLM will be conducting open houses and accepting written comments for the EIS from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the following locations:

Kemmerer, Wyoming—August 24, at the South Lincoln Training and Event Center, 215 Wyoming Highway 233.

La Barge, Wyoming—August 25, at the La Barge Town Hall, 228 S. LaBarge St.

Big Piney/Marbleton—August 26, at the Marbleton Town Hall, 10700 US Highway 189.

Pinedale, Wyoming—August 27, at the Pinedale BLM office, 1625 West Pine St.

To be fully considered, comments must be received by September 16, 2009.
Written comments may be mailed to: P.O. Box 768, Pinedale, WY. 82941; hand-delivered to the BLM Pinedale office at 1625 West Pine St., Pinedale, Wyo. 82941; emailed to: LaBarge_Platform_WYMail@blm.gov; or faxed to: 307-367-5329.
