The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has released a new report detailing expenditures, by species, for threatened and endangered species management. The report only looks at one year of funding - Fiscal Year 2007.

The species with the largest expenditure was the Steller's sea lion. Bald eagles came in 27th on the list (right after northern spotted owls). Florida panthers hit the list at 46th in top expenditures, followed by grizzly bears at 47th. Canada lynx were 58th on the list of expenditures, with black footed-ferrets ranking 70th, and gray wolves in the Northern Rockies coming in 84th.
