Pinedale Medical Clinic and Marbleton-Big Piney Clinic have received a Level V Trauma Receiving Facility designation from the State of Wyoming.

Staff from the Wyoming Department of Health Services reviewed the clinics in an onsite visit this past summer. In a letter attached to the certificate of designation received by clinic administration, Susan Wilson RN BSN, Wyoming Trauma Program for the Wyoming Department of Health stated "Your institutions’ ongoing commitment and continuing dedication to improving trauma care in Wyoming is clear." Wilson continued, "We congratulate you and your staff on this outstanding achievement."

Providing high quality trauma care is definitely a team effort. Receiving our Level V Trauma Receiving Facility Designation demonstrates the ability of our staff and our facilities in Sublette County to provide this level of care to people in our area when they need it most.

Wyoming’s integrated system of trauma identifies hospitals as trauma care facilities by using five levels. This system recognizes that all hospitals in Wyoming play an important role in providing optimal treatment to the injured patient. Sublette County Rural Health Care District is unique in that we’re the only rural clinics to achieve and maintain this distinction. It is imperative that patients are delivered in a timely manner to the closest appropriate hospital matching resources to the needs of the severely injured patient.

Our staff works hard to keep the patient first in everything we do and to consistently deliver this level of care every day to Sublette County and the people who visit. Rob Harding CEO, James H. Quirk MD, Trauma Medical Director for Pinedale Medical Clinic, Thomas Jones MD Trauma Medical Director for Marbleton-Big Piney Clinic, Phil Reints, RN Trauma Coordinator, and the entire emergency department staff, as well as all those throughout clinic departments that collaborate when called upon, are to be commended for their efforts in this successful review. Wil Gay, Emergency Medical Services Director for Sublette Rural Health Care District is also to be commended for his ongoing planning and management.

The notice of Level V Trauma designation for Sublette Rural Health Care District comes on the heels of two consecutive years of superior stabilization and quality transfer of trauma patients.
