The Pinedale Middle School MATHCOUNTS Team competed at the University of Wyoming in Laramie on Saturday, March 16th and captured the state title defeating teams from all over the state including Casper, Laramie, Cheyenne, Gillette, and Rock Springs. The team consisted of Brayden Ahlstrom, Jane Cloninger, River Dauwen, and McKenna Legerski.

Individually Jane Cloninger finished 5th overall, McKenna Legerski finished 6th, and River Dauwen finished 7th. No other teams in the state had two individuals in the top eight.

In the lightning round (which did not determine the outcome of the state rankings, McKenna Legerski finished 2nd while River Dauwen tied for 3rd.

The state championship caps off an incredible season in which the team won 4 out of the 5 contests they entered while having an individual finishing first in 4 of the tournaments as well.

The Sublette County BOCES was a key contributor and sponsor of the MATHCOUNTS team this year and we thank them for their support.
