Senator Barrasso visits Wyoming Troops in East Africa

DJIBOUTI, AFRICA – This week, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) visited with members of the Wyoming Air National Guard’s 153rd Airlift Wing in Africa. They are assigned to the 75th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron (EAS) at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti.
The Wyoming Air National Guard has more than 100 service members currently serving with the 75th EAS in Djibouti. They help provide tactical airlift support to various units in East Africa using their C-130H Hercules aircraft, all under the operation of the Wyoming Air National Guard.
"Wyoming is proud of the sacrifice and service of our brave men and women in uniform around the world. We have Wyoming service members from all across our great state stationed ten time zones away from home in East Africa," said Senator Barrasso. "Every day, these men and women face increasing threats from our enemies abroad. Their dedication to protecting our freedoms, allies and national security does not go unnoticed. I made sure each and every one of them knows Wyoming is always thinking of them and how grateful we are for their service."
The service members Barrasso visited with are from Alpine, Carpenter, Casper, Cheyenne, Gillette, Laramie, and Lingle.
During his visit, Senator Barrasso toured the base and received a briefing from military officials on the security situation and challenges in the region.
