Sommers Homestead Open House & Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame recognition Aug. 31

Everyone is invited to the upcoming Open House and Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame Celebration at the Sommers Homestead Living History Museum on Sunday, August 31st. The Open House is on Sunday from 10AM to 3PM.
There will be free home-cooked lunch starting at 11:30AM with roast beef, baked beans, potatoes, homemade bread, salad, and homemade pies and desserts. (Don’t be late for the food; it disappears quickly.) There will be live music by Shilo Johnson during the lunch. This is the last opportunity to tour the historic homestead before it closes for the summer season, although private tours and school tours can be scheduled in September. This historic site is open on weekends during the summer, June-July-August. Admission is by donation. It interprets early ranching and homesteading history from the late 1800s to early 1900s in the Upper Green River Valley. The Sommers Ranch Homestead is operated by the Sublette County Historical Society, a non-profit organization that also operates the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale.
The recognition for this year’s local inductees to the Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame starts at 1PM for the following cowboys and cowgirls. Family and friends will be present for the recognition.

The state Induction Ceremonies for the Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be held in the Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center in Casper Friday and Saturday, September 26 & 27. Anyone wanting to attend that induction event should make room reservations well in advance as the hotel facility fills up.
