Current Fire Information: The Cow Camp fire is now 100% contained and some of the crews are demobilizing to other fires. Remaining crews are performing mop up and continuing to look for hot spots while completing line construction around the fire. One helicopter is still assigned to this fire. Other crews are performing frequent visual surveillence of the whole forest to look for any new smokes using fixed wing aircraft and ground checks. Fire danger is still Moderate on the Bridger-Teton National Forest and no fire restrictions are currently in effect. Other Comments: Bugs are out in force now. Outdoor recreationists may want to bring their favorite bug repellant to keep from being the main course for hungry mosquitos and biting flies. Sunscreen is also highly recommended. Campfires are still legal, for the moment, on BTNF. They are prohibited on BLM and state land now. Recreationists might want to plan for the almost inevitable fire restrictions to come by bringing along some kind of legal propane stove in case restrictions go into effect and you can no longer build a campfire.    Please also remember that fireworks are illegal everywhere in Sublette County and on the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Light them in a campground or dispersed area, and you will probably be reported and receive a visit from the local law enforcement, along with a hefty fine. Cause a fire to be started because of your fireworks, and you may be also hit with all the fire suppression costs resulting from that fire. Some of the wild fires to date have already surpassed a million dollars in fire fighting costs.    The Pinedale Ranger District personnel would like to thank the Bousman family in Boulder for their cooperation in using their land for the fire base camp and helibase for the Cow Camp fire. Also, thanks to all the local businesses who were helpful in supporting the fire fighting efforts!    We want to thank the local Forest Service fire fighting personnel who have already put in many hours and very long days on this fire, as well as the out of area crews who came to our town and helped with the fire suppression efforts. Everyone get some rest and take a breather. It's only July. We know we are very fortunate our fire wasn't much worse.    Please be very careful with your campfires and cigarettes, and report any smoke columns you see while you are enjoying the great outdoors. CURRENT FIRE RESTRICTIONS Bridger-Teton National Forest: NO fire restrictions on Bridger-Teton National Forest administered lands at this time. Back country users are reminded that campfires are not allowed above timberline in the wilderness at any time. Fireworks are prohibited at all times. Sublette County Lighting fireworks is prohibited within Sublette County. BLM: Fire restrictions began July 4th. No open fires except within developed recreation sites. Regulations regarding smoking, operating a chain saw, and welder are in effect. No fireworks. State: Restrictions went into effect on State lands on June 11th. No open fires, barbecue grills or fireworks on any lands or facilities administered by the Game and Fish Department.
